Internship 2.0 @PIBE Magazine Week 5.02 (March 1 to March 7)

If you Play It By Ear, you don’t plan ahead but you do whatever seems best at the time depending on the situation.

ARTISTSPIPPA DYRLAGA

She is a paper cutting artist and printmaker based in Yorkshire, England. She use traditional techniques to create contemporary artworks. Her work is inspired by the natural world, and the things around her. For her one piece of paper holds a lot of possibility. The Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire-based artist cuts each one of her delicate creations from a single sheet. Her intricate designs turn a blank page into a plant-filled landscape or a robot tending to a garden. Dyrlaga begins by sketching each piece in reverse, before cutting sections out. Then she flips it over to unveil the finished work or to paint details onto the piece.

Katrin Rodegast

Katrin Rodegast is a paper artist, illustrator, designer and art director based in Berlin, Germany. Whether for advertising, magazines, brochures, websites, apps or animated films: all tactile objects, sets and scenarios are produced from paper, products, graphic elements or everyday materials. In this way, every motif becomes a distinctive item, directly engaging the observer. For her unique style, Katrin has been awarded as ADC “Talent of the year“, Red Dot Design Award, Adobe Design Achievement Award and American Illustration (AI-AP)

Reflection:

After looking at the paper work they do and turns it into a whole new idea or perspective I was amazed and surprised of the work which you all can also see. You will see the great examples of hard work and efforts which they have put in their work by having a look at the references. I hope you all will love it because it has many different aspects in it. Artist featuring is always a difficult job to do but I have worked hard to show you guys once again some of the best and amazing pieces of art works. Stay tuned for the next week because it will not be from the internship work and don’t forget to give feedback.

Internship 2.0 @PIBE Magazine Week 5 (March 1 to March 7)

If you Play It By Ear, you don’t plan ahead but you do whatever seems best at the time depending on the situation.

Work Activities:

Finally, this was the last week of internship. This week we had any kind of work beside the same artists featuring. I’ll share some highlights from the past. From the beginning, I started to work on social media strategies and handling of the magazine. After that I was assigned to create new ideas for the magazine and I was also asked for the research of the content and the articles. Moreover, I was given to sort out the data and create credit stories for the magazine along with the stockists to search fot best galleries and agencies who represent photographers. Not to forget artist featuring was the most difficult and interesting task for the magazine. After the launch we were asked to do work for PR, marketing and promotions of the last edition and now we started from the scratch again for the new edition and we are here now. It all went good. Overall, it was a great learning experience so far.

Reflection:

Internship is finished and all went pretty good with many learning aspects. When I started it was difficult to understand the circle in which the PIBE magazine works and operate. After guidance and and training I was on the lane and my mentor was pretty much happy with me. Many tasks were new because I haven’t work for the magazine before while many tasks were easy for me because I am from the Fashion& Textile Designing background I was familiar with many things which helped me a lot. I received positive and over-whelming feedback and discussed about the future objectives with my mentor.

Artist- Amanda Charchian

Article is about the thing which we are working on which is Artists hunt or featuring. This article is not about explaining but featuring some artists. One of the best and the really talented artist for this week featuring is Amanda Charchian. She is an American photographer based in Los Angeles. Her photography explores sensuality in a rather surreal way and her images are very subtle, feminine and dreamy. She captures the intimacy and the connection between herself and the models she photographs. Her commercial clients include Gucci, Bulgari, Chloe, Cartier, Nordstrom, Glossier, MCM and others. Amanda earned a BFA from Otis College of Art and Design in 2010 with a focus on painting and sculpture. Her current practice is focused exclusively on photography. She has had features on her work in publications such as New York Magazine, Vogue Italia, Garage, AnOther Magazine, TIME, Numero, Interview, L’Officiel ART & Homme, i-D, Purple, Russian and Turkish Vogue. I hope you will like her work as I do. Real featuring will be seen in the New PIBE Magazine addition.

Reflection:

Sharing one of the best artist to be feature is the difficult job as it should be some extraordinary work. It was not a difficult decision at all to choose this artist to feature it for you all because what she has done in the industry there are rarely few others.  Research is confidential but I have shared few artists and i will share the their work links in the reference list to have a look on. That was all from this week.

If you Play It By Ear, you don’t plan ahead but you do whatever seems best at the time depending on the situation.

Work Activities:

It feels like yesterday but we have come to the almost end of second phase of internship. Last two weeks were busy regarding the the photography side of the magazine and some artists hunting. Same like the past week we focused on more and more on artist featuring or research with unique talent and skills related to fashion, beauty and art. The aim was to hunt for something creative, modern and fresh and ideally they must have a large amount of followers. As much as we research and do hard work for our content it will be good for all of you guys to worth read.  This was pretty difficult and different. I did my research through out the week and it was very deep research having every kind of artist in it. I came across many unbelievable works or projects of people who were not very much famous. Now days creativity is growing.

Reflection:

Easy start to the week with same tasks but with more detail and you can say quantity. It was not difficult at all for me to do this. Every week you expect some new activities to be done but things happens like again on some previous task or to continue task because all the things have to be in the pipeline that’s why they are done parallel. That’s why it take time and we do more and more work as much as we can. I had to go through almost every gallery, museums and other websites and blogs, not to forget the social media. The main hard thing was to finalize the best of best artists. In the article of the week I will share few artists names and categories they are famous for so stay tuned.

Article- Artists Featuring

This week’s article is about the thing which we are working on which is Artists hunt or featuring. This is not just about explaining but featuring some artists. Some of the unique and extraordinary talented artists are

Wolfgang Stiller
He is a one of the best creative artist in the world. His creative arts will blow your mind and he is also known for playing with matches. He works in museums and public collections and have many awards under his name.

Takashi Murakami

A Japanese contemporary artist. He works in fine arts media like painting and sculpture as well as commercial media like fashion and animation. He is known for blurring the line between high and low arts.

There are many other artists on the list but for now I have to show you only this as real featuring will be seen in the New PIBE Magazine addition.

Reflection:

These artists are the example that there is no end to talent in this universe and creativity keeps evolving. You will see the great examples of hard work and efforts which they have put in their work by having a look at the references. Artist featuring is always a difficult job to do but I have worked hard to show you guys once again some of the best and amazing pieces of art works. Research is confidential but I have shared few artists and I will share the their work links in the reference list to have a look on. That was all from this week. Stay tuned for the next week.

Work Activities:

As we approached third week. Same like the past two weeks we focused on more and more on research but this time on artist featuring or research with unique talent and skills related to fashion, beauty and art. As much as we research and do hard work for our content it will be good for all of you guys to worth read. The aim was to hunt for the best artists that are doing something creative, unique, modern and fresh and ideally they must have a large amount of followers but talent counts. This was very hard and different. I did my research through out the week and will continue in the next week too. It was very extensive and deep research having every genre or kind of artist in it. I came across many unbelievable and extraordinary works or projects of people who were not very much famous. Now days creativity is on next top notch level. This was the activity of the week and we will continue to hunt for artists in the next week.

Reflection:

Looks very easy to eye to pick some artist but By we have to see a lot of details and there is criteria to select some artist and that criteria is very difficult to be fulfilled. That’s why it take time and we do more and more extensive research as much as we can. I had to go through almost every gallery, museums and other websites and blogs, not to forget the social media as well. The main hard thing was to finalize the best of best artists. In the article of the week I will share few artists names and a little sneak peak of their work and categories they are famous for so stay tuned.

Article- Paris Photo Fair

This week’s article is about one of the best photo fairs/exhibitions in the world PARIS PHOTO FAIR. As by the name it clears that it happens in Paris which is also called the city of love. Galleries, photographers and artists from all over the world participate in it to showcase their unique work. Every participant in it has its own name and legacy behind it because everyone who represent here is world renowned with the best of work to put up. Every time around 500 participants represent themselves at the photo fair. Name the county and you will see someone from their in it representing their own aura and legacy. I am sharing the last year’s list for all of you to have a look at it and also see the event to understand the value of it and I am assuring you all it is worth the hype.

Reflection:

When you talk about Paris photo fair you mean people from all over the world with different identities, culture and languages. It was one of the difficult thing to work on for me as it has so many people with different languages and when to start to get the information and deets about them the language barrier comes in. After the translation the only few things get translated but that’s only on website but if we talk to research about them the most content about them comes in their respective language and you have to see all the things which is not easy and then have to read all the stuff. When you search deeply about someone it takes time only on one person/gallery. The main thing is despite of this being the difficult task due to certain reason I have learned some basic things from many different languages and It will definitely benefit me in professional life. By now I can only write and read those words but I hope I’ll also learn to speak those. Anyhow, it was some different out of the box experience for me and it went all good. Stay tuned for the next week’ article.

Internship 2.0 @PIBE Magazine Week 2 (Feb 8 to Feb 14)

If you Play It By Ear, you don’t plan ahead but you do whatever seems best at the time depending on the situation.

Work Activities:

Welcome to the second week of the internship 2.0. As you all read that last week we started research on galleries. After that extensive research we took the step further with extensive research on all the photo fairs around the world and look for all the photographers, exhibitors and galleries. Last week I searched for the galleries that could be everywhere but mainly in the big cities in the world, this time it was for all over the world. Till now this was the most extensive and detailed research which was difficult in every aspect.

Reflection:

As I discussed above in working activity that it was a step further in research with more detail and depth with additional things. So far this was the most difficult task which I was assigned as I told told you all that I was not familiar with this field and I had to carry out some extra efforts to understand the value of these. In the last week research was for galleries mainly in the big cities in the world, for example London, Amsterdam, China, New York, Germany, Paris or any other country/city but this time it was for worldwide. I had to research the photo fairs, exhibitions and events all over the world and had to research who is competing, exhibiting and arranging the events. To gather all the information it took a whole week and it was less time to be honest to do this. Hundreds of names were chosen and I had to collect all the data about them which agencies or galleries they have represented, what their history is, which is the best work they have done so far, their contact or PR details and the other places they have represented. One of the best example of fair was Paris photo fair. Only that fair alone took me many days to conclude that whole event and carry out the information which PIBE magazine was requiring. This was not easy at all it took me many discussions and meeting in the middle to complete this task and as of know I cannot say I have much knowledge about the photography field but I can say I have started to gain knowledge and interest in it. Not to forget there was a language barrier in research because after the translation everything was not in English so gathering all the information was a tough task. Stay tuned for the next week.

If you Play It By Ear, you don’t plan ahead but you do whatever seems best at the time depending on the situation.

Article- Best Photographers Galleries

This article of the first week is all about looking at great photographic galleries, the ones you can hang on the wall in the real world. It’s a guide to galleries where you can see and possibly buy classic and contemporary photography: in Europe, United Kingdom, the United States, France, Asia and many other big countries.

. Hamiltons Gallery

. Jackson Fine Art

. Magnum Gallery

. Yossi Milo Gallery

. Torch Gallery

. Three Shadows Photography Art center

Whether you’re a collector or “just looking,” you’ll find much to enjoy on what I’ve listed. Please visit the websites of the respective galleries or take out sometime to visit in person for some mind blowing experience.

Reflection:

When I was doing the research and shortlisting the galleries which I required, it waas so much to difficult to choose and decide because I am not from the photographic field and had not any knowledge to judge so I had carried out more research on this thing before choosing the galleries. I checked the websites and read the history and what they represents and what they had represented. I’ve read articles of different people from the respective field to had knowledge about what exactly is this field about and what matters. After extensive research I’ve done the listing and shared a very few names with you to have a look on. Stay tuned for the next week activities and articles. Leave comment or feedback.

Internship 2.0 @PIBE Magazine Week 1 (Feb 1 to Feb 7)

If you Play It By Ear, you don’t plan ahead but you do whatever seems best at the time depending on the situation.

Fotografiska museet, Stockholm, Sweden.

Work Activities:

Welcome all to the second part of my internship journey after the long break of almost one and half month. As this was the first week after the successful launch of PIBE Magazine issue#11 so we started from the scratch again for the next edition. I was assigned to start with the research work on galleries. I was asked to do an extensive research and make a list with the best galleries in the world which represent photographers. Galleries could be everywhere but mainly in the big cities in the world, for example London, Amsterdam, China, New York, Germany, Paris or any other country/city.

Reflection:

It was after the break that I had my hands on the laptop for work so I had to be good in my work. At first, I had to be sure that galleries represent photographers, cause some of them they represent only artists like painters or sculptors. I don’t mind to represent all of them as long as they definitely represent mainly photographers. I had to be confident that I have included all the best galleries but also upcoming and emerging galleries or cool galleries with a very good reputation.
